Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

I am a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in private practice. For more than a decade I have been based at Mediclinic Morningside in Sandton.

Having qualified as a General Practitioner through the University of the Free State, I worked in the Eastern Cape’s public sector as a young enthusiastic doctor. It was during this time that my passion for Obstetrics and Gynaecology was born.

On returning home to Johannesburg, I obtained my specialist degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Colleges of Medicine in South Africa. During that time I am proud to have gained extremely valuable experience in the medical and surgical fields of my speciality at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and Rahima Moosa Mother and Children Hospital.

After completing my studies my professional career became my passion in life. I made the decision to dedicate all my experience and knowledge to the care of patients.

Spending  over a decade in private practice has allowed me the opportunity to further my experience in specialised surgeries and the medical management of high risk pregnancies.

I have found that a holistic approach to my patients, taking into consideration all aspects of their lives before advising, treating and managing their health, always achieves a superior outcome.

I hold a special interest in the reproductive years of a woman’s life as she starts the journey of building and nurturing her family. I believe that my dynamic nature combined with my fresh, energetic and unique approach to all my patients has allowed me to achieve high level, quality patient care.

In the field of cervical cancer, I have a passion for the difference that can be made in Johannesburg’s underprivileged communities, this developed during my time spent working in the public health sector. Limited access to resources and time constraints impairs prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.

In my private practice, my passion continues and as resources are available my goal of preventing cervical cancer is well within reach.

Today I am proud to have established an in rooms, independent HPV clinic where primary and secondary prevention of cervical cancer is offered.

I believed at the start of my career, that “Tomorrow will be defined by our children. Through the fostering love of a healthy mother, her children will flourish, crafting a better and brighter future for our nation.” My experience thus far has only encouraged and strengthened this belief.
